Miracle healing?

Fiona Tankard investigates whether simply tapping on key points on your body could heal your sick pet

You have probably heard of acupuncture. It originated in China and uses needles inserted into key places which are linked to the body's 14 meridians or electrical energy points. I've had acupuncture on a bad knee and can testify to its effectiveness. The treatment wasn't that painful either.

But you probably haven't heard of EFT. Short for Emotional Freedom Technique, this is a simple healing procedure and all you do is simply tap on key points linked to these 14 meridians to alleviate physical, mental and emotional issues.

EFT was created in 1995 in the USA by Gary Craig, a Stanford engineer in lifelong pursuit of personal well-being. The main thinking behind it is that physical and emotional symptoms are caused by energy blocks in the body's meridians. These can be rapidly released by simply tapping while focussing on the problem. Each round of tapping takes less than a minute and years of problems can be resolved in a matter of minutes.

I have tried this technique with great success, having learned the basics from Gary's website where you can download a free manual. He also has an amazing newsletter in which practitioners and patients alike describe the impressive results they are having with this very simple technique. There are examples of everything from curing fear of flying to improving eyesight and even healing cancer.

EFT for Your Pets
One of EFT's most incredible claims is that you can also tap for animals . This is known as 'surrogate tapping'. Once you know the key tapping points there are several ways to tap for your cat, dog, horse and any other kind of pet. Following the techniques on Gary's site I tried some surrogate tapping early (very early!) the other morning for our new puppy who was whining and crying and it worked within 30 seconds!

Below you will find articles from people who have used surrogate tapping to help all kinds of pets, including rescue animals who have been traumatised by their experiences. Surrogate tapping offers a gentle, non-invasive way to balance the energy. OK, you may be sceptical and I confess I was at first, but having tried it (what have you go to lose apart from looking a bit foolish!) I am amazed at its effectiveness.

The success rate for EFT – people and pets -  is very high at around 80 percent for specific problems. That is an amazing statistic and one the medical profession would be more than delighted to claim.

Gary's videos are amazing too and well worth a look.

This quote sums it up: "Some day the medical profession will wake up and realize that unresolved emotional issues are the main cause of 85% of all illnesses. When they do, EFT will be one of their primary healing tools .... as it is for me." Eric Robins, MD-
